Michael Adeniyi Ogidan, The Olokia of Okia, Oka Akoko, who was called to eternal rest at the age of 80.”

High Chief (Engr.) Michael Adeniyi Ogidan (1946 – 2026) was an illustrious son of Okia Ipepe, Oka Akoko, an accomplished Engineer, a courageous community builder, and the traditional Head Chief (The Olokia of Okia). A devoted Christian who worshiped at the Apostolic Faith Church, he left on the sands of time an impeccable record of leadership, forthrightness, humility, and generous service to humanity. As eulogized by His Imperial Majesty, the Olubaka of Oka-Akoko, High Chief M.A. Ogidan wrote an enviable page in the history of Okia, Oka-Akoko, and the engineering profession.

“With deep agony and total submission to the will of Almighty God, I am writing this tribute in honour of Late High Chief (Engr.) Michael Adeniyi Ogidan. What a nightmare, but the reality is that you are gone and words are not enough to express that deep hole left in our hearts. I particularly join the entire Okia Ipepe Community in mourning the loss of their traditional Head Chief, Late High Chief M. A. Ogidan, an extraordinary man with exceptional courage, unwavering dedication, a community-driven personality, a family man, a devoted Christian and an illustrious son of Okia Ipepe Oka Akoko who by the special Grace of Almighty God has left on the sands of time an impeccable record of leadership, a legacy of forthrightness, thoroughness and unwavering commitment to public and community service. Indeed, the Late High Chief was a great man who set up goals for himself and wrote an enviable page in the history of Okia, Oka Akoko, and humanity in general. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.”

“Tribute to a Wonderful Dad: Dad, you are so dear to us and we shall ever cherish your love and fatherly care. You have gone forever, and we feel the deep pain of your departure. Engr. M.A. Ogidan, High Chief, the Olokia of Okia was generous, kind, considerate, funny, intelligent, warm and extremely humble. Chief Olokia was a man of integrity and everybody who knew him confirmed that he was an honest, fearless and confident man that always stood for what was right. Chief Olokia, words cannot adequately describe the many ways you touched lives. You served as the pillar, hero of our family, great uncle, and father. Dad, you will be forever remembered in our memory. Gbogbo ebi ara nsedaro lehin ree. Sunre, kapade lese Jesu.”
